Why not join us at 7pm on Thursday 28th September for our next wine club?
Our last Wine Club on Biodynamics got a bit “out there” with theories and spectacle so we thought we would tone things down some for the next theme. Rivers are the life-blood of vineyards and the most famous wines in the world owe everything they are to the bodies of water supporting them. Many regions even take their names from the nearby rivers, like the Rhône in France and the Margaret River in Australia. No river supplies a more diverse area of vineyards than the Duero/Douro (depending on what side of the border you are on) which flows from central Spain, forms part of the Spain/Portugal border and empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
Join us as we explore the wide variety of wines made with the help of this mighty river. Some famous like the fashionable Ribero del Duero or Vinho Verde wines, some a bit more obscure like the bulky wines from Toro, and some classics like the fortified Ports.
A mere £30 per head includes all tastings and 3 courses. For those wishing to linger over their glass a little longer, our Brasserie menu will be available throughout the evening.
