Scotland's biggest small bar

The Wee Whisky Bar

Slip past the bustle of The Chip’s restaurant, through the hum of conversation and the smell of seasonal cooking, and you’ll find yourself in The Wee Whisky Bar - our cosy hideaway tucked at the back, where more whiskies per square foot than anywhere else in Scotland are waiting for you (aye, we'll stand by that).

What makes the Wee Whiskey Bar special

A glass of Jura single malt whiskey being poured behind the bar at the Ubiquitous Chip.

Inside, it’s a whisky lover’s dream: dark wood, soft lighting, the faint perfume of oak and malt in the air. From your seat, the bar shelves seem to stretch higher than the laws of physics should allow, each bottle a doorway to a different corner of Scotland. Out on Ashton Lane, buskers spill their music in from outside; on quieter evenings, the soft murmur of regulars and the clink of glasses set the pace.

A bottle of The Dalmore Whisky on a table next to a whisky glass.

Our whisky-wise, story-spinning bartenders are as warm as a Highland dram, ready to guide you through every dram with a bit of lore and the perfect suggestion for how to enjoy it.

From the Smoky Islay peat alongside a square of rich dark chocolate to the sweet, sherry-cask Speyside with a wedge of sharp blue cheese and the bright, floral Lowland paired with fresh oysters from the brasserie, the bartenders can do it all.

For the adventurous, our whisky cocktails offer a playful twist - think Old Fashioneds with island malts, or highballs kissed with honey and ginger. Purists may raise an eyebrow, but we think a dram enjoyed is never a dram wasted.
